I could make you satisfied in everything you do
All your secret wishes could right now be coming true
And be forever with my poison arms around you
No one's gonna fool around with us
No one's gonna fool around with us
So glad to meet you Angeles

AGNOSTIC IS NOT A RELIGIOUS STANCE. STOP IT. It's like saying your favourite hair colour is shoulder-length. That's nice, but you're using it wrong!

I am going to actually use this journal for a while. My goal is to post the most interesting thing I learned each day. Not lengthy or complex, just a single piece of information. I will probably forget in about two days but lets see how it goes. Tonight's premier is a two-part episode.

Yesterday, I learned the ear evolved from the jawbone.

Today, I learned that New Zealand used to have native crows.

I need to get this off my chest. [Jun. 15th, 2009|05:11 pm]
A seventeen-year-old girl was attacked on a very central street in Wellington on Sunday morning, at about 3:20am. Some men drove up in a van, and one got out and assaulted her. She managed to get away and lock herself in a public toilet until they left.

This was on the radio this morning. A friend who was here at the time immediately said in a dubious voice, "What was she doing there in the first place?"

Well. Chances were, she was minding her own fucking business and had the audacity to think she could wait for a ride in a very public place without a vanload of assholes driving up and attacking her.

I don't care how old she was. I don't care what time it was. I also don't care how she was dressed, if she had been drinking, if she had been flirting with someone, if she said 'no' clearly and enough times, or any other questions people inevitably and usually immediately ask in these situations.

Because it doesn't fucking matter.

It seems like I'm leaving pieces of my heart all over the place lately. [Nov. 13th, 2008|04:17 pm]
We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own, live within a fragile circle; easily and often breached. Unable to accept its awful gaps, we would still live no other way. We cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully understanding the necessary plan.

You were a good cat.
